Avaya stares down Microsoft, Cisco
While Avaya’s contact center and unified communications announcements last week signal the company wants a dominant position in those areas, it faces internal challenges and formidable competitors including Microsoft MCTS Training and Cisco.

The company is in the midst of digesting and integrating Nortel’s enterprise division, which it bought last year for $900 million and from which it expects to reap big returns by next spring. At the same time, it is dealing with the same generally soft economy that other vendors are — though Cisco is registering surprisingly strong revenue gains.

The Avaya FAQ

Avaya’s CEO says the next six to nine months are critical as it tries to integrate the former Nortel Enterprise division — including network infrastructure and business telephony — into its fold. The purchase was finalized last December, so the company has just completed its second full quarter since the acquisition. “On most operational details we have the normal first quarter challenges from shipments and logistics. Second quarter things are feeling pretty good, and the litmus test is ahead of us,” CEO Kevin Kennedy told Network World in an interview at Avaya’s offices.

That test is whether the company can nail down significant long-term commitments from Nortel telephony and contact center customers and lock them into a migration toward Avaya UC. At the heart of that challenge is convincing Nortel customers to buy Avaya Aura, the company’s flagship communications server. With Aura customers can step into IP telephony, glue together disparate VoIP systems and — most significantly for Avaya — lay the foundation for adopting UC.

Kennedy says Aura can support Session Initiation Protocol trunking immediately to bring cost savings to corporations and over time bring increased productivity that will save money long-term but might have a longer return on investment Microsoft MCITP Certification.

He acknowledges that getting Nortel communications customers interested in sticking with Avaya as they make plans for transitions to UC is key. The company is trying to draw them in with a flurry of announcements about new products, product enhancements and integrations with Nortel products. “This period right now is about bringing a lot of innovation to market. Now the question will be, are our customers as excited about it as we are?” he asks.

The stakes are high since just 17% of Avaya accounts overlap with Nortel’s, and competitors are gunning for the rest with attractive deals. “These customers are a pretty loyal base,” says Zeus Kerravala, an analyst with Yankee Group. “But they’re loyal to Nortel, not Avaya.” Historically, until Cisco entered the VoIP market, very few telephony customers shifted from one vendor to another, Kerravala says, and the recent turmoil of Nortel’s bankruptcy and Avaya’s purchase of its telephony business puts Nortel customers in play.

Surprisingly, the purchase of Nortel by Avaya didn’t result in Avaya catapulting to the top of the IP telephony market as some analysts expected. With Nortel and Avaya ranking solidly among the top five for years with very nearly equal shares of the market led people to think combining the two would result in a formidable lead for Avaya, says Matthius Machowinski, an analyst with Infonetics. “We expected them to be ahead of everyone else,” he says.

What is Visual Certkingdom?

What is Visual Certkingdom?

The Visual Cert Exam Suite consists of two programs; a Manager and a Designer. According to Visual Certkingdom.com, the designer was developed “for authors involved in practice exam development” and the manager was “designed for taking exams created with Visual Certkingdom Designer”. Unfortunately, one of the popular features of the designer is the ability to import and convert TXT, RTF, and PDF formats to the VCE format which is read by the program and displays the questions and answers in a format that is more like the actual exam Microsoft MCTS Training.
How is the VCE Manager used in the IT Industry?

As with the PDF braindump when it was first released, the VCE braindump is a tool used to dupe the Inadvertent Cheaters into risking their certifications. The easy to use import feature of the designer has made it very popular among the same crowd of people that originally created the PDF braindump. Yes, the braindumps that used to be all PDFs are now PDF and VCE formats. If you’re looking for VCEs to study with, you’ll most likely find yourself studying with an authentic braindump.
How does the VCE affect the certification industry?

The use of the VCE has flowed over to the cheating crowd that is always looking for “FREE” practice tests and has made a very huge impact in how people (illegally) study for certification exams. The invent of the VCE is definitely changing our campaign on braindump usage and now that we’ve seen the program used primarily for converting braindumps, we are beginning to understand

We all know that PDFs (~99% of them) are braindumps and violate the Non-Disclosure Agreements of every certification vendor in the industry, so it shouldn’t be too hard to accept the fact that ~99% of all VCEs will also be classified as braindumps.
Is the VCE Manager a valid tool that can be used to study with?

To put it bluntly, no. An explanation is in order, however. Although there is nothing wrong with the program itself, it is extremely rare that you will find a legitimate practice test provider using this tool to create their practice tests. Any use of this program we’ve seen has been in converting the old braindump PDFs to the new braindump VCE format. There are many websites out there that provide such materials and we have most, if not all, of them classified as braindumps Microsoft MCITP Certification.

As always, before you jump into any contract with a practice test provider, make sure they’re not putting your certifications at risk by violating the Non-Disclosure Agreement you have to sign.

Forensic Analysis, it’s not just for catching killers anymore!

This post goes out to all the people who are incessant about cheating because they feel deep down in their hearts that they will never be caught. If you are one of those people, you may want to grab a smoke and a coke, then come back, kick your shoes off and relax for a while while you read this. If you know one of these people (we run into them in nearly every certification forum on the internet) then pass this link on to them. And, well, if you’re not one of them, you may want to learn a bit, so enjoy Microsoft MCTS Training!

Now, since I know there are quite a few people that still can’t seem to grasp the concept of Forensic Analysis and yet others firmly believe forensics are only used to catch killers (murderers), I thought I would post some more information on the topic so that everyone involved in the certification or testing procedures would better understand just how they can get caught by using braindumps.

Before I do get into the meat of the topic, I would like to point out that all the information I’m presenting here is public knowledge and could easily be found with a few google searches.

Something else that cheaters (primarily those that make a habit of cheating) should know is that no matter what you do, or try to do, to circumvent the system, you’re going to get caught eventually. The reason: Data Forensics find anomalies in behavior. And no matter how you TRY to behave while taking your exam, you’re merely creating another abmormality that can still be measured. So trying to take the information presented below and using it to your advantage probably won’t work.

Are these “scare tactics” to keep people from cheating? Hell Yes! But it doesn’t mean that the methods aren’t being used. They are infact being used, and they are continuously being improved upon.

One method Certification Vendors employ to catch braindumpers is planting specific questions in their exams. These quetions are generally questions that have already been exposed to the public via one or more of the 1000+ braindump sites so they are known by individuals that have previously cheated and once were once correct.

Here is an example that was presented by Dennis Maynes of Caveon in his blog on March 2, 2008 which covers the Trojan method of seeding exams. Please, take a few minutes to read that, it is extremely interesting.

Here is another interesting blog from Dennis on the probability of tests with identical answers. Here’s what is so ineresting about this. Braindumps are questions and answers that have been taken from the actual exams, and certification Vendors seed the exams (as shown in the first link), so wouldn’t it be pretty obvious to the certification vendors if you have correctly (or incorrectly, you choose) answered the same exact questions that they’ve seeded Microsoft MCITP Certification?

I’ll leave you with this question (and the link to the answer): Can you prove cheating on tests using statistics?
